Pengantar Bilateral Meeting dengan Presiden Asian Development Bank
Bapak Presiden Asakawa,
Happy to see you again. And thank you for your presence at the 10th World Water Forum.
I’m happy, our strategic partnership for the past 57 years has been going well, including in navigating various crises, such as post-pandemic economic recovery. This good partnership must continue to improve.
Presiden Asakawa,
I would like to raise two issues.
First, on Indonesia’s energy transition, Indonesia remains committed to achieving emission reduction targets and to carry out energy transition process, which also need support from partner countries and international institutions. I appreciate ADB’s support in Indonesia’s energy transition projects, including the earlier retirement pilot project of coal power plants.
I seek more a closer cooperation through increased funding capacity, and I encourage other ADB member countries to invest in Indonesia, including in development of our new capital city, Nusantara.
Second, on Indonesia’s support to the ADB, Indonesia is committed to continuing to contribute and support Asian Development Fund (ADF) 14 Replenishment because the sustainability of ADF 14 will have positive impact for vulnerable countries in Asia Pacific (so that I am on the view that) Indonesia needs to play a bigger in leadership structure of the ADB forwards.
