Pengantar Bilateral Meeting dengan Presiden United Nations General Assembly
Your Excellency, President of The UN General Assembly,
It is nice to meet you. And thank you for Your Excellency’s presence at The 10th World Water Forum.
On this occasion, I would like to place three issues. First, regarding Palestine, I welcomed the adoption of The U.N General Assembly resolution that gives Palestine’s additional rights as a UN observer-state.
Nevertheless, we must not stop here. Root of the conflict must be resolved, namely Israel’s illegal occupation over Palestinian land. For that, the process at The UN General Assembly must reflect efforts to achieve Two-State Solution. And coordination by UN agencies to help the people of Palestine must be strengthened.
I also appreciate Trinidad and Tobago, Your Excellency’s home country, for formally recognizing Palestine. This serves as a great moral support towards the struggle of the Palestinian people.
And then, second, of The Summit of The Future Plan which could serve as a momentum to reform the multilateral system to become more faithful purpose and which provides more space for the interest of developing countries, including in accelerating achievement of SDGs.
Third, on sea-level rise, Indonesia stands ready to collaborate, including by being development partner to SEADS and support the convening of the summit in the September to generate concrete actions in overcoming existing problem.
I invite Your Excellency to share your views.
